We’ve been especially pleased to hear how having the books to read and activities to do together has encouraged children within GME families to use more Gaelic with each other. We know that it can be really hard to get kids to speak Gaelic to each other at home, so it’s great if this can help.
It’s also lovely to hear about parents who are learning Gaelic themselves reading the books with their children, and learning from each other as they go along.
A word of encouragement for members whose kids are on the young side for the books just now - everyone comes to reading at different times, but it's a huge help to have the books available for when they are ready. Some of our members have very young children indeed but want the books on their shelves for the future - we're impressed and touched by their commitment to Gaelic reading.
We thought you might like to have a look at some of the things our members have been saying, so we’ve put together some of the quotes for you here. Do have a read – and remember that you can now sign up for the July-December series of books from Club Leughaidh Cuilean Craicte. We'll need a hundred members by May 31 to go ahead, so don't leave it too late!
